Terms of Service

Last updated: 17 August 2026

1. Service Description

LawBuddy provides a legal navigation platform that analyses documents and provides legal information for matters governed by the law of England and Wales, unless otherwise stated.

Important: LawBuddy is not a law firm. The platform does not provide legal advice and does not create a solicitor-client relationship. All outputs are legal information only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice from a qualified solicitor.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this service. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use LawBuddy only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Upload documents you do not have the right to process
  • Attempt to circumvent any security or access controls
  • Use the platform for any fraudulent or unlawful purpose
  • Systematically extract data from the platform

4. Billing and Refunds

LawBuddy is priced per case. Establishing a case is a one-off fee (A$299 / £149) that unlocks that case’s analysis and makes the case, its saved analysis, its computed deadlines and its court-ready export available for you to read and export indefinitely, with no subscription required. For pricing, a case is a single matter — the proceedings arising from the same charging bundle before the same court — regardless of the number of charges or occasions of offending; consolidated proceedings are treated as one case. The establishment fee is the same for every case and is non-refundable once the establishing analysis has been produced.

A subscription (A$99 per month or A$990 per year; £49 per month or £490 per year) is elective. It adds live tooling across all of your established cases — re-running analyses on new material, live deadline computation and alerts, research and document chat. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected; monthly subscriptions may be cancelled at any time and continue until the end of the current billing period, and annual subscriptions are non-refundable except where required by law.

If your subscription lapses or is cancelled, your account becomes read-only: your established cases, their saved analyses and their computed deadlines remain visible and exportable, and only live re-computation stops. You may resume live tooling at any time by starting a new subscription; establishment fees already paid are not charged again.

5. Data and Privacy

Your use of LawBuddy is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Documents you upload are processed to deliver the analysis service and are not used to train AI models. You retain all rights to your documents.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LawBuddy's liability for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the platform is limited to the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

LawBuddy is not liable for any reliance on its outputs in legal proceedings or otherwise. Always consult a qualified solicitor before taking legal action.

7. Intellectual Property

The LawBuddy platform, including its analytical engine, analysis methodology, and software, is our intellectual property. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or create derivative works without our written consent.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are notified constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
